Teacher Criteria
We seek to hire teachers that love the Lord, love children and view their role as a ministry opportunity and a chance to inspire young lives. SCA Teachers are a combination of certified teachers and/or highly qualified individuals who are dedicated to educating and inspiring young children. Our teachers are required to have Early Childhood Education experience and training in CPR, safe food handling and other emergency procedures. SCA completes criminal background checks, SLED child abuse/neglect checks and reference checks on each teacher.
All of our teachers are state certified and meet all state child care requirements including:

Have undergone a SLED state and FBI background check

Have submitted Fingerprints through IdentoG

Have been checked against the sex offender registry through DSS.

Have submitted a complete health assessment signed by a physician upon hire and every four years thereafter.

Have submitted the results of a negative TB Test upon hire

Have a minimum of 2 years prior experience or a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Are CPR and First Aid Certified

Have completed an extensive orientation to the Academy's standards and specialized curriculum.

Receive in-depth training that gives them further insight into child-care and child development issues

Complete yearly training days to continually enhance their skills and knowledge on topics like handling challenging behaviors or improving curriculums, creating an effective preschool classroom environment.
